The 2-year old Boult Audio ProBass Space Bluetooth Headset had started showing it's age - it, now, occasionally outputs sound only from a single side. Generates fine sound output. No complaints as long as it functioned. Zeroed in on the Mivi offering this time, being a Company, that it's founders registered in India, & decent reviews online.
The Mivi ThunderBeats Wireless Headphones is a testament to the adage, "What people want, people get".
- This Bluetooth headset singularly caters to Indians and their obsession for the Bass. It does a great job at serving up sound in the Low Frequency.
- Listening to EDM over these, it brought out the thump in all it's glory. The ThunderBeats playing Sapna Chaudhary gyrating to 'तेरी आख्या का यो काजल' or a "Manscaping?-What's-That?" Pawan Singh serenading a body-positive Akshara Singh in 'लॉलीपॉप लागेलू' would leave no cell in the body of an Indian listener "undanced".
- This, however, has put paid to it's Treble performance. The Riffs in Metallica's 'For Whom the Bell Tolls' sounded warbled, almost mush. Metalheads, stay away from this device. Songs render unrecognisably.
Costing ₹1,299/= on Amazon [Sticker Price ₹2,499/=], there is nothing much else to complain of.
- Detects & pairs easily with the 2 year old Huawei & Lenovo cell phones & the Asus laptop.
- The Plastic-bodied headset utilises the Driver's magnets to additionally function as a clip-on. Of the Drivers, it's Backend is huge, compared to the Boult's [picture, above]. Makes them more visible & conspicuous when worn. Is it a good or not-so-good thing? Depends on the end-user. I, personally, find the idea of such a visible plug in the ear odd.
- Calls can be received on it. It's Mic does a good job of capturing your voice during conversation, even when outdoor.
- Manages to do a fairly good job of shutting out outside sounds when put on. Odd thing, it states passive noise cancellation, but claims implementation of Qualcomm cVc in the headphone. More likely, the brand-new pods providing superior physical sealing effect when worn.
All things considered, at ₹1,299/=, the Mivi ThunderBeats Bluetooth Earphones is a well-priced, Made for India product that Mango Indians would take an instant liking to. Headbangers are not Mango.
Godspeed
