....And Comes The Third One Home

Boeing sends the Indian Navy, its third P-8I 'Neptune' long-range maritime surveillance aircraft.

Quick on the heels of the second bird, which flew in on the 15th of this month, arrived the third. yesterday, November 22, 2013. Serial number IN 322 [N535DS].

Noticeably, despite the Chief of Naval Staff stating that Indian Navy would be receiving 12 of these aircraft [8+4], something I too wrote about, based on his statement, Boeing itself speaks only of executing an 8 aircraft contract. No talks of the follow-on order. Thus, it would be safe to state that presently it has no firm commitments on that front, possibly still in the negotiation stage, wrangling over the last comma, semi-colon.

Godspeed
