With the aim of arming myself to handle the inevitable proliferation of the cross-[Architecture]/[Form Factor] Windows 8 Operating System, I took to the "Interwebs" to search for a weapon of choice.
As I just discovered, Microsoft itself, via its Publishing arm, has released a book about the OS. Titled 'Introducing Windows 8: An Overview for IT Professionals [Final Edition]' it would cost you around $15 USD. However, if you choose to go the tree-hugger way, you can then have it for free. Click on the image below to go the download page & choose the format in which you want the download to proceed.
Microsoft, I found out, has been releasing many of its books in this fashion. You can have a look at its offerings of free books at these places - Link 01, Link 02 & Link 03.
Godspeed
